Oh dear, tech debt like that is the absolute worst. Y'all get wild kudos for persevering instead of chucking the whole thing. Dreamwidth is clearly a labor of love for you folks in many ways, and I appreciate it a lot.

So, so many developers have taken on a part of the project with great enthusiasm, gotten it 90% done, and the process of fixing all the edge cases and tweaking all the tiny details burned them out so badly that they never want to touch another part of it again.

Yeah, I've run projects like that. They suck a lot.
