Part of what has delayed the new Create Entries page is that we wanted to update the RTE, because it's very old and very broken in several modern browsers, but it's proven a huge freaking pain in the ass because of how complicated it is (the existing RTE is so heavily customized to allow for site-specific markup). But it proved to be such a problem that we could at least move over the existing RTE that would at least be no *more* broken than the existing option...
