Yes, those ex_foo accounts behave just like "real" accounts do -- they just have junk names! (And don't worry, renames confuse the hell out of me, too. I wish we could make the system easier, but the way our database treats "what is an account and how does a username related to an account" is complex enough that renames are just as complex.) I swear, whenever we have a support request that involves something having been messed up in the rename process, I sometimes have to stop, grab a stack of post-it notes, and start labeling things and moving them around on my desk to figure out exactly what the chain of steps were.
I can't offer to do this for everyone, because I don't know how much time I'm going to have free to do lookups, but I took a look at how many accounts you have and I can see why you're going a little crosseyed: lemme save you some time. Open a support request in Account Payments, point at this news thread, and remind me I offered to tell you which of your accounts need their emails confirmed. (For privacy reasons, I can only do it for the exact email address on the account you write in on, and the lookup tool I'd be using for this particular use case isn't great with username+foo plus-addressing so it will likely miss any of those, but I can save you some time.) If any of your friends have more than 50-some accounts, I'll try to do the same for them as much as I can, but the offer's going to have to only be good for a few days and I may need to bail on it depending on how much other work I have, how well my body cooperates, and how badly my eyes are crossing!
