Having a 404 page at all would be an improvement; all I get is my browser's 404. Even a link to the front page would be an improvement.

Why the redirect for the pictures but not for friends, when both are linking/address habits formed based on the old lj stuff? If anything, I'd bet the number of people who have the habit of typing in the friends url is much higher than the number that have the habit of typing in the allpics one.
