Basically invite codes only get handed out when the site's ready for a rapid growth phase. I think the code requests are backed up due to the wedding at the moment, though! So probably best to wait until things are running more normally. There isn't anything you're expected to do to get your codes, just send the request. If you really need codes right now, try dw_codesharing and see if anyone has any spares.
