I agree with (most of) the other responses I've seen. We're all used to the fact that things cost more over time; there's no reason to expect DW to keep going on insufficient funds. I think the idea of increased prices is quite reasonable. After all, folks who can't afford that can use the site for free.
Just spit-ballin' -- disregard if this suggestion causes problems I don't know about. But maybe you could add a stripped-down account with fewer perks than 'Regular' for those who want to keep supporting the site, but really can't afford in increase.
