I've been on Dreamwidth for a while now but haven't really been active on it. Reading through the comments on this post, I've been extremely impressed with both the thought you put into your responses and the thought you've obviously put into protecting your users. I'm a software developer professionally, so I understand at least the technical side of what it takes to keep user data both minimal and safe (no experience here on the legal side; I've never worked at a company small enough where I had to roll up my sleeves and look at that myself).

Thank you for your commitment to us all as your users and for how transparent you are about the site's workings, the legal challenges (God bless you for getting involved there; KOSA and friends are nightmares), and all the rest. I really appreciate it and it's refreshing to see.
