Yeah, election year plus "think of the children" is a truly horrible combination. (I wish some of the lawmakers writing this stuff would think of the actual children before writing these things, because how on Earth did they get to "collect more data" from "we need more data privacy"???)

I'm really glad to hear things sound good from the lawyer end of things, though! Dreamwidth's Not Evil stance on data privacy is a wonderful thing, and the fact that you're willing to go to bat for us on this means a lot. It seems like this law's bad on enough fronts that the Netchoice lawyers have a lot of angles to choose from.
