Recently, a contractor asked to be paid with a check and my spouse was afraid he wouldn’t be able to pay the guy. Fortunately, I had an ancient box of checks hiding in the bottom of the “miscellaneous crap” drawer. So it still comes up now and again! I can’t remember the last time I wrote a check before that.
