Hi Denise! I was on LJ 2003-2014 and that site was my home for a very long time. Viable replacements for it were hard to come by. I've tried facebook. I've tried tumblr. I HATE both of them with a passion. At least with facebook I can contact friends and family IRL without have to buy texts and minutes on my piece of junk phone, but tumblr was just miserable, impersonal, and eerie. Despite being active, it has a very dead feeling to it. Thousands of notes mean nothing if you're not making friends and getting to know people.
So I strongly prefer the journal format, and I want to thank you and Mark for keeping this place up and running. I am a writer, so this suits me perfectly. And, when I can, I'll continue to purchase paid accounts and icon space, because the fact that you're not selling out to advertisements means a hell of a lot to me. Let me know if there's anymore I can do to help keep this site out of greedy corporate talons.
