Oh man, I knew I was missing some kind of important step here -- thanks for clarifying! It's not actually that complicated, it's just me ... I had no idea that you could just import content like that between the sites until I saw your post and saw people talking about it here.

So, yes, I did already do the OpenID thing, as I was very confused and thought it included the importation in it. But I will happily go back and do the first step. All I really want is to have the (few measely) comments I had on my LJ posts archived onto my DW. I don't mind deleting the repeats of certain posts (as I have hardly any comments on DW yet) where necessary.
