It's okay, don't worry about it! I know the whole thing can be kind of overwhelming, no matter how easy we've tried to make it. :)

Just to clarify: When you say "did the OpenID thing", do you mean that you went to https://www.dreamwidth.org/openid/claim and claimed your LiveJournal OpenID URL? That won't import your LJ content: that's just a way to make it so that comments you've imported look like you posted them with your DW account instead of with your LJ OpenID. (It's step 2/2, basically, while importing your content is step 1/2.)

If what you want to do is bring all your LJ posts and comments over to DW, you need to start an import. That's what actually copies the data over. (I noticed that you haven't done any importing yet, and you don't have an import job currently scheduled.) The problem is that you've been manually posting on both sites, so when you import, everything that you posted to LJ will be copied into your DW account over again (with the comments from LJ on them) rather than the comments from LJ just being picked up and put on the DW version of the entry.

There isn't a very good way to fix it -- there's no real way to say "hey, these two entries are the same on both LJ and DW, so please put the comments from this entry on LJ onto this post on DW". But since you have so few entries, and so few of them have comments on DW, I think you should be okay with just a little bit of manual cleanup.

So, do this:

1. Go to https://www.dreamwidth.org/tools/importer. Tick the radio button that says "LiveJournal", and put your LiveJournal username and password in the box. Click "Continue".

2. On the next screen, pick what you want to import. It looks like you've already added your icons and written a profile bio, so you can just check "Journal entries" and "Journal comments". (Checking these will make a few other checkboxes get ticked automatically: that's okay.) Ignore the bottom section, you don't need to worry about that. Click "Continue".

3. On the confirmation page, make sure that you've entered the correct LJ username, etc. Then click "Start import".

4. Now wait! It will be a few days before the import finishes -- the importer is working very hard right now and there are a lot of people importing. :)

5. Once it's finished, you'll get a notice in your Dreamwidth inbox. When you do, go look at your journal. You may find that you have two copies of some entries. If you do, pick the version that doesn't have comments on it, and delete that copy.

That should get you all squared away!
