Heifer is probably more transparent than a lot of charities; I'll give them that. However, the last glossy catalog I saw still had that information in teeny, tiny print, not noticeable unless you're looking for it. Granted, the last catalog I saw was this past summer, and maybe they've since changed where that information is placed.
Most of the people I know who donate to Heifer are middle-aged people like myself and most of the people in that group prefer the catalog to the online information. Because of that, I think a FAQ page needs to be in both places.
I understand about administrative costs. Organizations naturally incur costs because most of them can't run without at least some paid help. I don't have a problem with that as long as donors can see how their money is being spent.
