Well, I guess if people really want 500 icons and have lots of money to spare now, then they may not care too much about about the difference.

I can also see it being useful for people who have just a little more than 100 or 250 icons. I think when I migrated I had 113 icons, because of LJ adding a couple of permanent icon slots for every year of paid time. So being able to spend $13 in order to avoid having to think about which ones to delete would have been pretty tempting.

But then I got a premium account so it no longer applies.
