Ha! I thought I might know what you were asking, but I didn't want to assume. :)
Same thing works on LJ, by the way -- icons used on posts/comments go by keyword, not the actual icon file, so as long as you use the same keyword, you can replace an icon. (This occasionally caused me some troubles when I hadn't remembered I'd used a common-word keyword for an icon before and then was suddenly wondering why old posts had changed their icon...) A lot of roleplayers with free accounts here rely on it, for instance, having a set of 15 emotions ("happy", "sad", "angry", etc) and then changing which actual image is using that keyword when they want to freshen up their icons...
