somnolentblue: statue of a woman from the waist up (Default)

Greetings! I have a question - I thought I read in one of the dw-news posts or comments to the news posts that validated OpenID accounts with access would soon be able to make hypertext links in comments; for some reason, I think it was up to five links per comment. However, I might have completely made that up - sleep and I have been on somewhat dubious terms lately, so sometimes I imagine that I've read stuff that I haven't.

Does this comment/intention exist or did I make it up? While searching about, I found the suggestions post from a while back where it was explained that part of the reason behind not allowing links was an anti-spam measure. So, I could completely believe that it might be wishful thinking meeting lack of sleep.

I ask because I'm starting a commentfic comm, [community profile] spn_bitesized, and the ability to post links affects a few decisions as I create the ground rules and some of what I'll write up in the comm's FAQ for the users who will (hopefully) participate with OpenID.
