Oh, I apologize! I know it tends to creep out some people, I just haven't figured out what I want for a new default yet. (I do know that some people use AdBlock Plus to kill display of icons they aren't comfortable with, though.) I often find real life direct eye contact to be uncomfortable, so I understand your aversion.
