OK, it's not perfect, but just as a quick mock-up, I've put something approximating to the default LJ style from 2003 on my test journal, ![[community profile]](http://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/community.png)
livredor. I did that in the new style system, using only the wizard (including some CSS), starting from the Crisped layout. It's not absolutely identical, and some of the alignment is a bit off, but it's plain colours, distinct borders round each entry, no sidebars or graphics. If you want a more exact match it's certainly possible in the Dreamwidth style system, but it would need a bit more fiddling; I'd probably have to make you a new theme layer.
